Mayer Hawthorne played Letterman
Last night Motown throwback mastermind Mayer Hawthorne and his band The County hit The Late Show with Letterman. They jammed out to “The Walk” from this year’s How Do You Do. And it is pretty much everything you want a 2011 soul band to be. You can say that this is kitschy or gimmicky, but I am in love with this swagger and plus there is absolutely no way to deny how great the hooks on Mayer’s songs are.
